Reach Intern Programme

The Reach Intern Programme is an opportunity to work in the Headquarters of Christians Against Poverty, or in the surrounding areas in our CAP centres. During the year we offer extensive training, support and experience working with our award winning management team. In return, you will have the chance to offer us your time and energy, to see more of our clients released from poverty, giving many individuals and families a new hope.

Who can apply?
High quality applicants who are aged 20+, with a heart for God, a heart to serve and a heart for the poor. Applicants should be keen to train and develop alongside top quality managers and employees in the charity.

When is it?
The programme starts at the beginning of September each year, and finishes the following July.

Receive a bursary
Reach Interns will be eligible to apply for a bursary of £130 per week, for the duration of the programme. Christians Against Poverty will cover the cost of required training and any appropriate expenses incurred while operating in the role of a Reach Intern. Reach Interns are also expected to take part in fundraising £2,000 either before or during the year. CAP has a highly experienced team of professional fundraisers who will inspire you with creative and innovative ideas.

Reach Your Potential
Every Friday, we will offer you the opportunity to develop in our management training programme. We will take you through a bespoke management course with modules covering managing people and managing yourself, practical management, leadership, and leading an organisation. You will learn the management principles that have sustained our growth and excellence since we started as a charity.

Reach To God
You will also have an opportunity each week to reflect, learn about yourself and your skills, and grow in your Christian faith, while developing an understanding of God’s desire to help the poor and needy.

Reach Your Community
For the remainder of the week you will be placed in an area of the charity where you will work in teams and alongside managers, putting the development programme into practice, and being a great resource to the charity. There are six streams to select from. You can either choose a stream that particularly appeals to you, or tell us your interests and we will place you in one that we think is most suitable.
